My plant was sent on Friday. Will it sit all weekend in a depot?Updated 2 months ago

We understand that when you're welcoming a new plant into your collection, you want its journey to be as quick and stress-free as possible. Here is a guide to how our shipping process works.

Our Dispatch Schedule

We have two regular dispatch days each week: Tuesday and Friday.

We have chosen these specific days to align with Australia Post's network and ensure your plant is in transit for the shortest possible time.

Understanding the Parcel Network

A common question we receive is whether there is a difference in the journey time for plants sent on a Tuesday versus a Friday.

The truth is that Australia Post’s sorting and transport network operates continuously, even on weekends. A parcel sent on a Friday does not sit in a depot; it continues to travel through the network on Saturday and Sunday, being sorted and transported across the country.

The difference lies in the final delivery:

  • A parcel sent on a Tuesday will travel through the network and is almost always delivered by Friday.

  • A parcel sent on a Friday will travel over the weekend and is almost always delivered on the following Monday or Tuesday, depending on its destination.

Your plant is always in motion and we choose our dispatch days to ensure it has a smooth journey to you.

The Benefits of Choosing Express Post

For us, the health of your plant is the top priority. That's why we offer Express Post as a shipping option, especially for our remote and interstate customers.

While standard Parcel Post is reliable, Express Post is the most effective way to ensure your plant spends the absolute minimum time in transit. With Express Post, your plant receives priority handling and travels via the fastest possible route.

This means that for a vast majority of locations, a plant sent with Express Post will be delivered:

  • On or before Friday if dispatched on a Tuesday.

  • On or before the following Tuesday if dispatched on a Friday.

For our most remote customers, this can be the difference between a plant arriving in a few days versus a week or more. We highly recommend this option to give your new plant the best possible start in its new home.

Can I Request to Hold My Order?

We understand that sometimes you might need to delay a delivery. However, we are unable to accommodate requests to hold an order until the next dispatch day.

Our order fulfilment process is highly automated and designed to get your plant on its way as efficiently as possible. Manually holding an order would disrupt this process and can unfortunately lead to errors, delays, and a less-than-ideal experience for your plant.

We appreciate your understanding that this policy is in place to protect the health of all the plants we send out and ensure the smoothest possible experience for our entire community.
